Woodland Healthcare Receives Stroke Program Gold PLUS Award

Valley Emergency Physicians and Woodland Healthcare are excited to announce that Woodland Healthcare will be recognized as a “Gold Plus Performance Achievement” award recipient by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s “Get With The Guidelines” program for turning guidelines into lifelines. The award presentation will be on Friday May 21, 2010 at Woodland Healthcare. Valley Emergency Physicians has staffed the Emergency Department at Woodland Healthcare since 1981 and was instrumental in Woodland Healthcare receiving Primary Stroke Center Certification in 2008.
A “Gold Plus Performance Achievement” award signifies recognition by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association means that Woodland Healthcare has achieved 85% or higher adherence to all “Get With the Guidelines” Stroke Performance Achievement indicators for consecutive 12 month intervals AND 75% or higher compliance with 6 of 10 “Get With The Guidelines” Stroke Quality Measures to improve quality of patient care and outcomes.
This follows that 2009 Sliver Award for 85% or higher adherence to all “Get With The Guidelines” indicators and a 2009 Bronze Award for 90 consecutive days of 85% or higher adherence to all “Get With The Guidelines” Stroke Performance Achievement indicators. Recipients of this award were recognized in an article in U.S. News and World Report.
