Association of California Healthcare Districts hosts Valley Emergency Physicians presentation of the Provider AT Triage, A Revolutionary Change in Emergency Department Patient Throughput at Annual Meeting
Oct 01st, 08
The Association of California Healthcare Districts (ACHD) was pleased to sponsor Valley Emergency Physicians at their 57th Annual Meeting in San Diego. The theme of this year's meeting was "Rising Stars."
The presentation "Provider AT Triage: A Revolutionary Change in Emergency Department Patient Throughput" was chosen by ACHD in recognition for the impact this program has had on a variety of Emergency Department facilities staffed and managed by Valley Emergency Physicians.
The presentation by Steve Maron, M.D., President of Valley of Emergency Physicians and Marc Hudock, PA-C, Chief Allied Health Officer of Valley Emergency Physicians addressed the history of the problems surrounding patient throughput, suggestions for improvements, and implementation of the Provider AT Triage program.
Through the creative use of a role-playing exercise it was demonstrated how patients can rapidly be moved through the Emergency Department while at the same time providing high quality care. Challenges to implementation and how to deal with "saboteurs" was also discussed. An extensive question and answer period followed. The presentation was well received by all in attendance.
Dr. Maron, President of Valley Emergency Physicians, is focused on providing quality care with an emphasis on patient and hospital client satisfaction. He leads Valley Emergency Physicians and its 300+ physicians and 80+ Allied Health Providers.
Mr. Hudock is the Chief Allied Health Officer for Valley Emergency Physicians. He is responsible for all aspects of the AHP role in the Emergency Department. In addition, he is instrumental in new contract acquisitions and start-ups.
Valley Emergency Physicians Medical Group (VEP) is a California Professional Corporation formed in 1981 whose stockholders are its practicing physicians and allied health providers. VEP provides emergency medicine and primary care physician services to 25 hospitals and 3 hospital affiliated clinics. Our administration office is located in Walnut Creek, California.
