Woodland Healthcare Emergency Department can Truly Say that they are Number "1"
Aug 22nd, 08
Woodland Healthcare Emergency Department can proudly state that they are number "1" when it comes to providing care to the patients of Yolo County. In July 2008, the Emergency Department was able to post a number "1" for the Left Without Being Seen (LWBS) rate. That is, ONE patient LWBS during the entire month.
The LWBS rate is tracked at all Emergency Departments. This is an important indicator and speaks to the ability of an Emergency Department to treat patients in a timely manner upon arrival. National LWBS rates range between 2-4%. At Woodland Healthcare the expectation is to keep this rate at or below 0.7%. For the month of July the rate at Woodland Healthcare was 0.06%, or ONE patient.
This amazing feat came at a time when the Emergency Department is in the middle of a remodeling phase. This was made possible through the hard work of every Physician, Allied Health Provider, Nurse, and members of the other departments throughout the hospital.
Since the implementation of Valley Emergency Physicians revolutionary Provider AT Triage program in the Woodland Healthcare Emergency Department in April 2006 the LWBS rate has been 0.52%!
